Viewing Web Pages

When the web page appears, you're free to move about the cabin — er, we mean view the web page — in any number of free-ranging ways.

Using fullscreen and portrait views

When it comes to viewing web pages, Safari lets you use the entire real estate of your iPhone screen. As mentioned at the beginning of the chapter, as soon as you begin scrolling through a web page, the Address/Search and Toolbar go into hiding. You may want to change your point of view depending on the page you're viewing: Hold your iPhone upright for portrait orientation view (taller than it is wide) and turn it 90 degrees to use landscape orientation view (wider than it is tall), as shown in Figure 3-3.

Landscape view is particularly useful when you want to watch video on a web page.
